Study on Technology of Sea Condition Fast Forecasting and Its Application Extension

The project titled “Study on Technology of Sea Condition Fast Forecasting and Its Application Extension” was awarded the third-class prize of the National Scientific and Technological Progress in 1996.

The research project was to quickly and objectively provide systematical information on sea condition for more than 30 marine capture fishery companies along the coast of China based on collection of data on sea condition and marine capture fishery information and technical process and comprehensive analysis. In the four years from 1987 to 1991 the information on sea condition was issued once a week and these fishing companies that applied the information on sea condition in their fishing operation had improved markedly their economical benefits. The research achievement has filled up a vacancy in the field of marine capture fishery information service in China with a distinct social and economical benefit.
